Program Description

The BFA Theater Division at NWSA is a conservatory training program committed to prepare talented and dedicated students for careers in the theater. In particular (Acting & Music Theater) students are trained to become competitive and functional members of the professional theater.

Associate in Arts; BFA by the University of Florida for New World School of the Arts (NWSA).

History of School/ Department

The Florida Legislature created NWSA in 1984, as a Center of Excellence in the Visual & Performing Arts. Fully accredited by both the National Association of School of Theatre and the Southern Association Colleges and Schools. NWSA is recognized nationally as an outstanding training ground for professional actors and musical theater performers.

Merit Scholarship; State and Federal Financial Aid.

Description of Facilities

One 200 seats, flexible Black Box Theater (fully equipped); 3 large acting studios; 12 classrooms; a lighting lab; scene shop; library; costume shop; computer room; gym and student lounge.
